Nihal Mehmood
The Board is a non-profit, self-regulatory, voluntary body engaged in the promotion of Islamic Finance in North America.
Ms. Mehmood is an accomplished financial services professional with over a decade of experience spanning capital markets, risk compliance, and strategic business development. She brings a dual perspective that marries traditional capital markets risk management with specialized expertise in ethical and Islamic finance.
As a Senior Analyst at TD Canada in Toronto, Mehmood leverages her understanding of market risk dynamics to ensure sound reporting and regulatory alignment. Beyond traditional corporate banking, she also possesses a distinct global footprint. Mehmood spent time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, working with Ethis Crowd, an Islamic crowdfunding platform, where she successfully led affordable housing projects. She further expanded her leadership capabilities as the Lead of Operations & Business Development for Awqaf World.
Mehmood holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University, along with a Master’s Degree in Islamic Finance from INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance, Malaysia. She has also completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) through the Canadian Securities Institute.
